[bodytext] => I didn’t choose to be this age, it kinda sneaks up on you. While you’re otherwise engaged, time goes on without you.
Friends are growing older; Kids are gone and grown; Nights are getting colder; And Id rather stay at home.

My children are retiring; I start to paint and bake; I see grandkids at weddings, and relatives at wakes.
My mind has gaps; I need my naps; Im barefoot in pajamas. Id rather take a bubble bath, than visit the Bahamas.

Friends talk of pills and wills and ills; with sweet sarcastic laughter. The dog is old; Ive sold my clothes. My body is my master.
Ive lived my dreams; Ive done it all. Theres so much to remember. The roaring fire and I have settled to lovely ember.

Theres no time left for future plans, theres only time for living. I don’t produce, Im little use; the world owes me a giving.
I live my life from day to day, while my kids keep score. My lifes no longer up to me; I need approval for;

Where I live and what I do, and what Ill leave behind; Where I go and what I need, and when it will be time;
To move into that nursing home, cause time again has shown; That I need care and cant be trusted living on my own.

When strangers have to watch you, and all you have is gone; And every penny must be spent while you continue on;
Living in a little room that smells like alcohol; Eating from a plastic tray and staring at the walls.
Then you know its time to go, but here’s where life gets heady;
Theres one more thing you cant control:
Life goes when its darn ready!
