Sounds at night; howls and cries; from evening til the sun would rise.

They sold the house and moved away. But still he haunted night and day;
One night he set the house on fire; The flames became their funeral pyre.
Her husbands ghost at last had peace; and all his cries and howlings ceased.

He knew no stillness; wasn’t saved; His plot became an empty grave;
Her cries and screams he knew so well; began anew as each night fell.
No silent rest was his we learned; his wifes revenge each night returned.

Once the haunter; now the haunted; Neither got what they had wanted.
Revenge upon revenge our tale; when the moon is waning pale;
Some say his wife is making merry; dancing in the cemetery.

They plotted against him before she wed; she would inheirit and he would be dead,
Her and her lover would have all they wanted; They didn’t count on being haunted.
Sounds at night; howls and cries; from evening til the sun would rise.

They sold the house and moved away. But still he haunted night and day;
One night he set the house on fire; The flames became their funeral pyre.
Her husbands ghost at last had peace; and all his cries and howlings ceased.

He knew no stillness; wasn’t saved; His plot became an empty grave;
Her cries and screams he knew so well; began anew as each night fell.
No silent rest was his we learned; his wifes revenge each night returned.

Once the haunter; now the haunted; Neither got what they had wanted.
Revenge upon revenge our tale; when the moon is waning pale;
Some say his wife is making merry; dancing in the cemetery.
