And the sun is low and golden
Like the face of a Buddha
Suspended in the majestic
I slip away from the hum of the aftermeal
And go swiftly and silently
Down to where the valley is shaded
Where the Lama rests
And the mountains open out towards the sea

Peace lies heavy in the air
It settles upon my skin
And seeps down to the bone
While dappled golden light dances
Whenever the breezes brush the leaves
And lifeforms unseen
Go quietly about their business

A plane so high above me
Reminds me of home
May the mountains watch over this sacred place
When Im gone. When the day is cooled
And the sun is low and golden
Like the face of a Buddha
Suspended in the majestic
I slip away from the hum of the aftermeal
And go swiftly and silently
Down to where the valley is shaded
Where the Lama rests

Go quietly about their business

A plane so high above me
Reminds me of home
May the mountains watch over this sacred place
When Im gone.
