cried out in pain
choking on connections
`til all their lies they revealed

I have rusted
become brittle and rough
forgot where my key resides
maladjusted
got by on just enough
push and pull `til earth divides

I have broken
but being torn open
is not so diminishing
words unspoken
create space to hope in
my story`s not finishing

I have begun
I am letting life in
instead of locking it out
and all I`ve done
is only where I`ve been
old stories to write about

I have been changed
shown a new way to be
no more pushing hands aside
life re-arranged
learned I don`t need a key

I have been chains

by my own magnetic field
