Topic: Sad Poetry

You only get a little bit,

The springtime fountain will flow, then quit.

 We are young for just one song,

And that/'/s not very long.

We cry and smile as the sundial

Shows its shadow for a while.

We look back before the night was black

And see our salad days on youthful track.

Summer winds blow, past the youth we use to know;

A hand full of decades become a faded glow.

Naïve hours came and went

And now we clench the haunting scent

Of the vernal blossom spryly spent.
