Turned My Sound Up

I worked so long building myself up
everyone else only emptied my cup
I see you enmeshed and wonder why
everyone sits back watching themselves die
is there no meaning within?
do you only find it in them?
set your autonomy free
all the things you wanted to be
I worked so hard taking myself back
but you give it away like it comes back
they all say you`ve gotta find yourself
as I watch the whole world selling themselves
what happened to all the rest?
the parts of you now oppressed
giving all your time away
like nothing else could care to stay
went my whole life so empty inside
now I`m full, and it`s precious, purified
finally learned how to be alone
found glory in the peace I`d never known
built myself from the ground up
learned to live loud, turned my sound up
all these little pieces are
lighting up my skies like a star
