Tamed

The wild is tamed by beauty’s touch
Before the earth will raise the seed,
The wars of men will cease to be
When peace has touched the eyes of greed.
The sun will shine above the clouds
When rain has soaked the highest hill,
What weapon aimed at man is known
To conquer freedom’s pliant will?
The flower blooms in shade and sun
Without it judged by man or beast,
To love our neighbor as our self
Will plant the seed of lasting peace.
The course of days is set for us
To make the seasons end and start,
Now, can we tame the soul of hate
To see the beauty in each heart?
