A Ghost From My Past

You were a ghost from my past
A love I could never quite grasp
Always out of reach
Sordid tricks you often did teach
How could a love so bold
Increasingly grow so cold
Minutes and hours did slowly go by
I missed you madly, I can not lie
A story yet told could never unfold
As the grains of sand flowed dry
So did the love between you and I
