Too Young to Know

Old enough to fight your war;
Too young to buy a beer.
No matter what you battle for;
You can’t have both, I fear.
Youve turned a boy into a man;
You cannot turn him back.
He’s climbed your hill and learned to kill;
You can’t give Jill her Jack.
You should have known he would have grown;
Much wiser than you wanted.
Sleep well tonight, they won your fight;
And may your dreams be haunted.
