Sleepwalking In The Shadowlands

Because of you I see the world in bitter hues of black
Salvation is a door locked shut down a corridor of pain
You bleached the goodness in my soul, tainted it with the stain of acid hate
I am part of a disconsolate army, a disciple of fears
Shackled to disenchantment, wandering the mist
Champion to torment, I hold its brutal banner proud
Salute me pessismism. I have rallied to your cause
My brittle shell encased in the steel of mistrust
Yet the wire noose of despair strangles and chokes
I am lifes captive, sleepwalking in the Shadowlands
Feet chained to hopelessness, shuffling through the dust
No escape from the sword you hold me under
The prisoner, locked in a world without walls
Damned to self-loathing, in a veil of self doubt
I see nothing but the emptiness of a candle snuffed out
