Come warm yourself dear one, she said
Why suffer needlessly?
Starve no longer, share my bread;
My coat, my fire, my bed with me.
Temptation in each word infused;
With luxuries so grand;
What could he lose should he refuse?
And so he took her hand.
Addicted but ungratified;
Tomorrow hell awake;
Unfilled, unwarmed, unsatisfied;
Unable to escape.
Tonight he sleeps in falsehoods;
Cloaked in quilts of dread;
His belly full of promises;
In the devils bed.
