Sleepy Heart

Sleepy heart-
even an eyelash twitch to
your shuttered lids
begs the core to flitch a wink
for old times sake.
Why, remember, just yesterday
the train mourned long so so same
and then I knew
my heart would never sleep;
beat beat it goes,
beat beat it knows the unrelenting
long drawn whistle of endless tracks
stretched beyond memory
to a pinpoint,
from energy, from bliss,
to the joyless eyes I see, unseeing,
to this.
