I BELIEVE IN GHOSTS

i believe in ghosts
trying to make sense of dust
searching for themselves in haunted rooms
where the works have fallen to rust
where dimmest light may not sweep
not to pierce the oldest curtain
bound by the ropes of time
where the coming future swells uncertain
pray for rain to show
to drum out a hollow melody
to quench the thirst of day
to pour to all a memory
i do believe in ghosts
exhausted in wander and in effort
who never grasp a single answer
who never stumble upon a comfort
see them then to a different place
push them away and far
press them past that silent moon
so that they may seek their star...
