Regrets

You may live by the sea
With the body of water all around
But when you get thirsty
For a drink you have to dig the ground
When a slug of vapors is found
You don’t throw what you beget
Unless you want to regret
My living was bound
To all the things that wasn’t me
I can say square from what’s round
What more was needed to let me be?
Been rocking like a tide in a troubled sea
Don’t care about what I can’t get
Contentment over regret
Some sitting in a room acting like strangers
Some jumping off a cliff as opposed to dangers
Some can’t treat their kin kind when they stand
But are sure to visit the yard, milk in hand
Some see so far ahead, they fail to see their love
They turn towards the sky, looking for life above
Some want to eat, some want to play
Some want to mess you up, some want to slay
Some will be kind enough to leave you to your way
Only to stick you in the back with what they say
Some plan for years with fears and vents
Not realizing they are letting go of moments
After all these years, I’ve learnt a thing or two, you bet
Never say nor do what you may regret
