Why are long-stemmed roses;

Festooned in sweet array?

Its not the rose the melts the ice;
Or heals her heart so fast;
Its knowing what you sacrificed:
For something that won’t last.

Youve told her shes so special;
That just to make her day;
Although you KNOW it’s too much dough;
You spent it anyway..
