Angel Flight

One last ride, a C-130 disappears into the night,
Within her lies a Hero, dry eyes... there is zero
Your mission complete but mine continues, this is a war we will not lose,
Away you fly, my tears may dry, but your memory stays with me while I am alive,
Salutes are rendered as that Angel takes flight, Godspeed my brother, we will see you on the other side
All gave some, you gave all, you and I are one in the same, we answered the call
A family mourns as flares illuminate the night sky, within that sky of yellow and orange the figure of an Angel forms
We will carry your name, tattooed upon our heart, you may have left this world, but we will never be far apart
Soon you will be laid to rest, tears fill the eyes as your wife clinches that flag to her chest,
Role call followed by 21 shots, Taps plays as your casket is lowered into the grave,
The clouds part followed by a ray of light, for this hero will rest with God tonight
When all have left and the last shovel of dirt is placed...
An Angel appears holding a single white rose, rest easy child, fore you are home.
Forever Faithful
