GHOSTLY DAYS
Date: Monday, 17th April 2017 @ 03:10:58 PM AEST Topic: Sad Poetry

the curtain falls on a brand new day
because i lie so still again
i cannot find a single word to say
i cannot tell how long it has been
i picture you walking from this room
stopping where you stood a thousand times
this place has now become my tomb
filling up with the sound of tolling chimes
a carriage ride through an empty park
where i kept your hand held tight in mine
the sun has set to bring on the dark
i do not believe that i will ever be fine
memories now haunt my heart the most
as i peer out into the countless haze
i sometimes spy and see your lovely ghost
while i am captured now by these ghostly days...
