Where Is My Spring?

Days like today make me feel like there is no God.
The sky is a white abyss, a fog that is never ending... there are no dimensions to it.
I look to see something,
I see nothing.
There are no leaves on the trees,
their branches are barren, hollow and bereft of life, like me.
Where are my branches to protect me from the world around?
I would like to liken myself to an empty twig, but we have a difference that makes me envious-
I have to bring happiness into my own life.
A twig only has to wait for spring to come and do its work for it.
The world around me does not stop to help me grow.
I wish I could be stagnant like a barren branch.
I wish I could put a pause on my life, to sit in a tree.
I long to dwell in sadness for just one day,
but no, I must life my life.
I have to grow my leaves by myself.
Where is my spring?
