Lanai Night Song

Sometimes,I find myself
thinking of what could have been
My arm around you on a hammock
listening to the ocean
North Shore,
where they filmed my favorite comedy
We can see the green flash
of the sun disappearing
A tropical dream state
and you were all that was on my mind
A paradise I//'//ve never seen
and you were all that was on my mind
Oh, what a mistake I made.
I should have kissed you that night
If I could change one thing
I would have kissed you that night
Sometimes,I catch myself
smiling and dazing off
thinking of us sitting on that beach
inching closer until 3 o/'/clock in the morning
Sometimes, I feel stuck
like there is another life I could have started
A few part time jobs,
playing guitar in a hotel lobby
In another universe,
we//'//re on our way to Lanikai
playing coconut football with my best friend
sleeping over at your apartment
Someday, I//'//ll never have to worry again
Someday, I//'//ll be happier where I am than where I//'//ve been
