When you lose yourself?
I can't even love myself
Without the pain.
You can't save me,
Your efforts are in vain
Rising above the ashes,
But asphyxiated by smoke
Cloaked in daggers
Of serrated hope
Everyday it begins anew
Tapping my shoulder;
Poking through
There was never a chance
But my ignorance grew
I am someone's shame.
Skeleton in the closet
That bears no name
Too foolish to see my own fading light
Medicated from trauma,
Shielded from the past,
But I can't escape the night.
When the night becomes day
And shadows fade away
I can no longer deny-
So this is goodbye.

What does it feel like
When you lose yourself?
I can't even love myself
Without the pain.
You can't save me,

Rising above the ashes,
But asphyxiated by smoke
Cloaked in daggers
Of serrated hope
Everyday it begins anew
Tapping my shoulder;
Poking through
There was never a chance
But my ignorance grew
I am someone's shame.
Skeleton in the closet
That bears no name
Too foolish to see my own fading light
Medicated from trauma,
Shielded from the past,
But I can't escape the night.
When the night becomes day
And shadows fade away
I can no longer deny-
So this is goodbye.
