You Played With Fire

You often refer to me as
Calm, cool, and collect
Like some little animal
You could play with and call me your pet
You wove your web
Captured me within
Squeezed me so hard
I began to bleed
Rode me hard
Like a great white steed
Used me up on a whim
Had me do all of your deeds
You were evil at the core
Threatened to show me the door
Stepped on me
Like I was a rug on your floor
You lit the fuse
Mistook it for a candle
All along you were so amused
I was yours to mold and abuse
You fired up a power within
You knew not what you started
If you were looking for trouble
You got it doubled
A fire from hell you beckoned by name
It overcame you
The shell of you melted from within
I was victorious in the end
You played with fire
All along you were just so pompous
The hold you thought you had on me
Burned and destroyed you in the end
