The final pages have been turned
The last chapter has come to a bitter end
It's time to close the book on you and I
No further words need to be said
Except farewell and goodbye

The time we shared seemed so long
Filled with sorrow and pain
So hard was it all to comprehend
We need not study it
Or revisit it again

Your words cut me so deep
Like a sharp but jagged knife
Plunging further and further within
Until I gathered the strength
Built up a wall and repelled what came in

You let me know you were the only one for me
No one else would have me and that
Was your sick game
I had no backbone you proudly proclaimed
I guess you were wrong as your plans went up into flames

I'd rather go it alone, as they say
Write my own love story
Chapters and all
Than be just another fool
And fall for you
