Ode To Alberta

As I journey through Alberta,
From the prairie's level plane,
To the foothills of the Rockies,
I'm reminded once again.

How the ageless hand of nature,
Never rests and never can,
From continuous reshaping,
To complete the master's plan.

From the mighty rivers flowing,
Moving rock and silt along.
As the ice returns to water,
When the winds blow warm and strong.

There is joy in every season,
Every creature that I see.
When I add it all together,
Every flower, every tree.

As I gaze upon the beauty,
Of our snow capped mountain peaks,
See the pristine lakes and rivers,
Fed from glacial streams and creeks.

Then the spirit deep within me,
Is most truly moved and awed,
By the grandeur of creation,
From the mighty hand of God.

Then I see my life a blessing,
Sometimes hard to understand.
How could I be so fortunate,
Just to live here in this land?
