Storm

Truth has hidden its eyes in shame
The awkward shift
Side to side
There is comfort in familiarity
But a cold bed cures no chill
It is only a grave site
to lie and rest
Paralyzed, distracted
Cotton inside ears
Grin against the grind
Until the tombstone crumbles
Beauty and the mess
Rose petals falling
Wilting, dying
A rapping on the door
It was just the wind
Pouring rain on a whim
Laughing at the bug caught by a spider's web
Storm looming in the distance
Who knew sharks had wings
And looked like angels with broken halos?
Maggots under skin, flesh rotting
How long has this been dead?
