unbeknownst

Climbing through broken walls, set of my own design.
Light reflects these haunted bricks of moss and worn out devices.
Seeking punishment from a universe with a kind and open heart.
Longing to get back within the frame to feel a brand new start.
Teetering on madness, the balloon waits for no man to rise.
Drunk on medias blindness, expecting the light of dawn to reach darkened eyes.
Images of my past on milk cartons, reading of days long gone.
Wedding vows like worn out plays, wondering where the last act went wrong.
Actors playing heroes, the pope playing the pontiff role and the atheists march on.
Whispering a vote for me will set you free.
A song of bubblegum stuck on my lips with the taste of your bitter kiss.
Just another day in the life of unbeknown.
As the band plays on.
