Marsh Rat

Forget me shoes, grab my hat
A mouse is prowling, set the trap
Trying to catch fish, taking their nap,
I'm a certified, all star marsh rat.
Not concerned, about rain coming,
It's the tides, tell me what's running,
Small rumble, can't be thunder
You can catch me, bobbing flounder
Don't care about deer,or angry steer
Jumping on the boat in high gear,
Hopping out, toes in sand
Wishing and digging, for some clams
Forget my shoes, grab my hat
A mouse is prowling, set the trap
Trying to catch fish, taking their nap,
I'm a certified, all star marsh rat.
Water rising, reverse recede
glancing around, what do I need?
Boats abound, a slow bite
Floating crab pot, a dog fight.
Sun setting, blue soup in mug
Shaking my head, for Foxy's hung
A step to the left, and one to right
Trusty line broken, in for the night
Forget my shoes, grab my hat
A mouse is prowling, set the trap
Trying to catch fish, taking their nap,
I'm a certified, all star marsh rat.
And for supper, no restaurants
Just anything, whatever you want
Whitey and blue, welk or conk
Or boiling crab, on hot tongs
Head hits pillow, soon I dream
Close to my Honda, beer in reach
Kids to raise, mouths to feed
without shoes, salt water I bleed.
Forget my shoes, grab my hat
A mouse is prowling, set the trap
Trying to catch fish, taking their nap,
I'm a certified, all star marsh rat.
