To My Muse

Where is my time machine?
I have lost track of time,
So much was left unseen-
The rhythm and the rhyme.

I came here and found my muse
Weaving through his web of words
Confessions; was not a ruse-
Love's coagulated curds.

It was you. Always you.
I wept for us for days
Abandoned, but love grew,
In clouds of sunny rays

Did I push towards hatred?
Confusion, or the absurd?
I'm consumed by the jaded-
Loving thoughts became censored

What is a pilot without a plane?
Or a conductor without a train.
What use is a sink without a drain,
Is a poet born without the pain?
Can blood flow freely without the stain...

If things could be reversed
Would you wish them the same?
A play to be rehearsed;
A lioness to tame

Painted faces hang around,
They don't reach you like I do.
On a ship that ran aground
Without my anchor, in you.

Paint without a canvas-
Or a pen without ink
Desert without cactus,
A brain that doesn't think.

My words and yours, they collide
Time was wasted- save today.
Let us put our past aside
Speak to me; I'm here to stay.
