Yesterday-You

Inside your skin, there used to be a heart.
But I guess that heart, got wings and flew away.

Inside your promises, there used to be some truth.
But you let the truth get out, and tied your lies at both ends.

You found a shelter in my heart,
but you never made it your home.
It was always open for you,
but you decided to leave and close the door.

Now You're just a shadow on yesterday-you.
I can't remember the way your eyes looked when you smiled,
And I can't even remember how you looked when you cried.
You're now just living memory of yesterday-you.
You can't speak, because the search for feelings gets in your way.
Now you can't see, your iris has turned a darker shade of grey.
