Just as I am

"Just as I am".
Seems like a lifetime ..so many wasted days ..
different directions .. so many wrong ways
Then I did feel it ...... the touch of a hand ......
don't know why He chose me, "just as I am".
I lived for pleasures ..... comfort, in the crowd ......
seeking contentment ...that I never found .......
Then I remembered .....the touch of His hand ...
I had nothing to offer Him.... but, He took me "just as I am"
"Just as I am" ....... alone and confused ......
thought I'd lost the greatest love, ......I'd ever knew .....
searching for shelter .... to hide all my shame .....
looking for someone .......to carry the blame ......
Got down on my knees .......and that's when He came...
speaking so softly ..... calling my name .....
That's when I reached out ... touched the tip of his hand ...
I knew he still loved me ..."just as I am".
Life shadows grow longer .... My last sunset to see......
I live in the comfort ...... He's waiting for me.....
One day with him ....I'll walk that fair land .....
Me and my Jesus .....hand in hand .................
For when He reached down...... with his nail scarred hands .....
my sins were forgiven ..... He saved me "just as I am"
