Topic: Sad Poetry

Contributed By: ebhollen

the cute young women
tattooed and pierced
as small as cat
yet twice as fierce

a quest to find herself
took her to the sea
and her track back
is where she crossed me

four in the mourning
we shared a seat
and her life’s woes
like a boxer after a defeat

broken and betrayed
opening to me
from the deepest depths
of her reality

from Cincinnati
through the deep south
like a psychiatrist
she lies on my greyhound couch
