Four Years Too Late

I think you made me cry last Sunday night
I sat alone under the red billboard light
it said, "buy a ring, make her Christmas great"
to no one, I responded, "four years too late"
Now you, you're getting married too
and I'm a slob getting drunk at noon
I still blame you for making me drink
but babe, I'm so ***** happy you got away from me
Because,
to be completely honest, I'm a basket case
(I drink too much because I'm scared to be alone)
when I close my eyes, I can see your face
(I'm only alone, because I drink and let myself go)
My life's an oxymoron
and I'm a moron
because I still believe the key
is talking you into coming back to me
I'm so alone,
and all my hope got buried
SHE IS GETTING ***** MARRIED
your pillow's cold,
and my arms are empty
MY ***** GIRL IS GETTING MARRIED
I think you made me stay up last night
I dreamt of Orlando and your flight
What if I kissed you in that makeshift mist?
Would you still be here, would we still exist?
No, because I'm an accident waiting to happen
because I'm a code that's too easy to crack and
I would have ruined it either way
It's what I do, four years too late
Because,
to be completely honest, I'm a basket case
(I drink too much because I'm scared to be alone)
when I close my eyes, I can see your face
(I'm only alone, because I drink and let myself go)
My life's an oxymoron
and I'm a moron
because I still believe the key
is talking you into coming back to me
I'm so alone,
and all my hope got buried
SHE IS GETTING ***** MARRIED
your pillow's cold,
and my arms are empty
MY ***** GIRL IS GETTING MARRIED
I know you found a better man
but baby,
no one could ever love
love you as much as I can.
