The forgotten route

You turned up at the forgotten route
When wishes were packing up, tired
The haze of everything I’ve ran away from
Is suddenly at my door-step, ringing of you

Hello Phantom, don’t come in yet
Distances draw their best bets around me
Our boundaries know their wise lore
From stories bled by earlier angels

I trace your world from places I won’t belong
Our duality rests on the songbird’s mystery
Our lives will never be quite the same again
From our moments apart, though we never are together

Think of me, Phantom, when your mornings rise
Know that we are one, when the world around fades
You walk with your loved ones, the life that you know
While I walk alone beside you, your thoughts all mine…
