If I could have held my eyes, brimming with bonfire adoration
as they met yours across that vacuum crowded room,
for a second longer
would that taught wire of shared experiences have snapped ;
scattered in a whirlwind dissipation of your arms and those words and
If I could have held myself more freely, held my dalí body with enough poise
and assurance for you to see me
as more than my inadequate esteem allows,
would you? Have seen
morwenna, wave of the sea, full-bodied, wholly free and
would you? Have been
currented and overwhelmed and swept away by confidence holding backs straight and legs open and arms uncovering, unwrapping my dull form; your fingertips mapping ice cube fire trails on my luke-warm ,
would you? Have felt
desire in your stomach as I unbuckled your belt
not tepid affection.
I want to turn that climaxing ray of light into the spectrum
I feel;
I want to make you reel
oh and I promise that we’ll
still share those companionable hours and held hands
But, one day, I will hold onto your wheel and spin, and land
on bliss, and it won’t be accidental
It all starts with one kiss
which might discard the incremental sensibility;
might torch your attraction
I will be the refraction
in the prism bed
I will be surprising and enticing and with lunar changeability
you will be the one moaning in pleasure, instead.
So the next time our eyes meet and I can’t help but smile
and the smile hits my eyes before my lips
remember that one night, one afternoon,
I will full moon and eclipse
and I will spectrum you
on the bed, on the floor, with a firmly shut door
I will refract your momentary high into a rainbow
and after, I will hold your head and the world in the crook of my elbow
I will hold you, rock you, whilst you laugh
I will show you love in aftermath.
