My Ol' man My own man

You rarely say that you love me,
Cuz you are never there!
I'd call you up to say hello,
But would you even care?
It's taken so long to tell you,
The pain you've caused inside!
Not that it really matters to you,
But these tears I can no longer hide!
(Chorus)
Locked away, was the anger I felt for you,
I'd hide away, what's a young man supposed to do?
You went away, and expected me to understand,
How to grow up, without you around, to teach me to be a man!
(Verse2)
It's not really the fact you walked away,
It's the fact you never turned around!
To see a young mans hopes and dreams,
Shatter to the ground!
And even when I got to see you,
It's like you wasn't there!
Because with your new family,
My father I had to share! So...
(Chorus2)
Locked away, is the anger I feel for you,
I hide away, what's a young man supposed to do?
You went away, and expect me to understand,
How to grow up, without you around, to teach me to be a man!
(Verse3)
Even tho you was hardly around me,
I somehow turned out just like you!
Hiding all emotions,
Just like you always do!
And now you just can't understand,
Why my own path I have to choose!
Well Dad you see, it's simple,
I'm just following in your shoes!
(Final chorus)
Now locked away, is my anger I left with you,
You hide away, what's a grown man supposed to do?
You went away, and now you don't understand,
How I grew up, without you around, and became an alright man!
Ya, I forgive you, and I love you, but I'm now my own man
