I bow my head in shame.
For only I am to blame.
Father forgive my sinful ways.
I've allowed them to lead me astray.
That a child should open my eyes.
And seek to purify my life.
I ask myself where did I go wrong?
Why could I not be strong?
How could I turn off the righteous path.
Now it is I that shall feel the wrath.
How often have I ignored the plight of others.
Forgetting they are my brothers.
So many blessings you give me.
But in asking for more I complain I see.
Shame fills my heart.
I don't allow you to be part.
Or guide me in this world.
I don't know when last I read your word.
When last have I been on my knees.
When last have I said God please.
And not please for something new.
But rather please what can I do?
To take Your word.
To those who have not yet heard.
Spare me not thy wrath.
Guide me back to the righteous path.
