Understanding another person
as tears roll down their cheek
Getting a touch of emotion
from a situation that seems so bleak

Some people cry from happiness
some people cry from sad moments that they feel
Allowing themselves to cry at all
is a moment, they allow themselves to heal

Teardrops are very heavy
as gravity pulls them to the ground
Full of cleansed emotion
they splash without a sound

Breaking a smile on their face
relieved from feelings they once had
It seems the teardrops I saw
where from that person being sad

Reaching out my hand
to console this person, in moments need
A silent word is spoken
I offer my help with understanding and not an ounce of greed

Allowing myself to understand
someone’s feelings from teardrops that I see
I know they would do the same
if teardrops were cleansing me
