The Journey Of Love

I once decided to travel far
further than the horizon i went.
Traveler on a wooden ship,
that lost souls shall forever accompany.
Was it then i found you?
The song of the sea i became,
conquered each and every top of every reef.
Tops of dreams filled with corals,
but their wild freedom tore my soul apart.
Was it then i saw you?
And even further than that i went,
looking for those things that poets never forget.
My hand gracefully reaching out,
desperately trying to captivate the beauty.
Was it then i heard you?
My sorrow is now my only port,
blurry and dusty memories my anchor.
Loneliness now my only home,
where i shall always so happily return.
Respectfully kneeling its ground i shall kiss,
pick up the roses that long ago died,i should.
And with their thorns and their black petals,
a new course i will draw again.
But suddenly shocked i looked around me.
It was then i realized.
It was then i knew.
There is no ship sailing from here.
