Ghosts stalk whilst hidden in shadow
Careful to never reveal their true shape
Eyes watching, piercing like an arrow
Huddled within my box with no escape
Don't want to acknowledge their existence
Fear that will bring the loss of my mind
Be they harbingers of my dark conscience
Or the memories of what was left behind
Taunted mercilessly by their crying essence
Pretending I cannot hear what they bring
Hands over eyes to bring some silence
Mute screams to end this tortured haunting
Dawn brings the message the ghosts sent
Dwell too long in the land of past damages
Spend the rest of time on the isle of regret
Sitting out life on its cold emply beaches
My nature's to dwell in memories of past pain
It's hard to bring forth instances of sunshine
All around, bad memories fall like dark rain
Pray I'll learn to forgive by life's deadline
