Journey of Love

As I try to navigate Loves brier patch,
The thorns rip and tear at my skin.
The blood flows freely from my body,
Digging deep for courage from within.

So I begin to climb the tree of Love,
I can never seem to reach the top.
Striking each limb as I fall back down,
It seems the fall will never stop.

I begin to cross Loves vast desert,
Love like water no where to be found.
The silence and isolation's maddening,
On hands and knees cross sandy ground.

Trying to orbit through Loves outer space,
Only a dim light projected from the moon.
The vacuum tries to tear me into pieces,
And I pray that this madness will end soon.

Starting the climb up the mountain of Love,
Scratch and claw just to reach the peak.
Greeted by devastation when I find out,
I didn't find that which I was trying to reach.

The final journey sets on Loves stormy seas,
Waging war with the tidal waves crashing down.
Tossed from the helm of my helpless vessel,
With a decision of whether to fight or drown.
