to make an even dozen
I have answered the phone for noone
not even my cousin

my mind has a deadline
that it has to meet
& once it has been met
I can get up from this seat

I feel like I'm growing roots
from sitting in this chair
my mind was preoccupied
tho my but was unaware

this captivating moment
that only I can see
is a battle between myself
& my poetry

my imagenation is still alive
& I'm trying hard to show it
it's the twelth poem in a row
from the hot shot poet
