Tsunami's End

Woke up this morning with a smile on my face
Now everything seems so out of place
The way you made me feel last night might as well be erased
The happiness you instilled in me is gone; with sorrow and sadness it has been replaced.
My life has been turned inside out and upside down
My inner turmoil is like a tsunami and sooner or later surely I must drown
It's already starting to crash around me; the waves are washing over me turning the smile you put on my face into a frown
I must not let this happen again; I need to run far and fast away from you and this town.
I feel as if I never want this to end
But through the tsunami in the water's wake I can see a bend
Surely you can see that my heart is broken and it will never ever mend
I must let the waves wash me away; I must take the bend.
I don't want for you to be "that guy"
You shouldn't even have to ask me why
I don't think I can smile without being around you but I have to at least try
So after tonight to you I must say good bye.
Once the tsunami crashes I must take the bend up ahead
To quieter waters where a rock star like you wouldn't dare to tread
I hardly know you yet the calm waters I fretfully dread
Because you will not be there and without you, inside, I already feel dead.
