Are We Too Old To cry?

Are we too old to cry?
or to just shed a tear?
I don’t think age matters
let yourself cry without any fear.
Emotions are merely feelings
running through our minds.
We find it hard to open up
only showing many signs.
Emotions are like a fire
burning our outer layer.
Our soul stays confined
finding the heat hard to bare.
When we are full of anger
getting confused is easy to do.
Locking up our feelings
building an emotional view.
Having a partner
or someone special to you.
It can be very emotional
when hurting is all they do.
This can cause a swelling in the eyes
leaving you with a feeling to shed some tears.
It makes you think so hard
makes you think you have wasted so many years.
Let yourself cry
let your thoughts flow.
Don’t let anyone hold you down
when they tell you to leave, just turn around and go.
Shedding a tear
or sobbing so much from your hurt.
Open up your mind
allowing from your mouth your feelings to blurt.
Brothers and sisters of this world
there are times when I too cry
But when I’m finished
I feel better and give a sigh.
Put out that fire
that burns you from anger and negative emotion.
Give your soul some rest
and it will give you pure devotion.
Never ever feel
that crying shows a sign of shame.
After all, you have been hurt
and you’re not to blame.
So open your heart again
let a smile shine on your face.
The negative emotion and burning will be gone
leaving you in a state of grace.
