SEND IN THE CLOWNS

In the beginning of our empire
The tax rates were very low.
Revenue was very great.
History books now tell us so.
But just before nations collapse,
It's the opposite that is true.
Fools lead nations to bankruptcy,
As our leaders have done for you.
Just look at an inauguration,
Like the coronation of a king.
But four years down the road,
We'll be doing this once again.
And with an electoral college,
My how the drinks will flow.
The parties have a ball at conventions,
And it's all done just for show.
Who pays for such exuberance,
While homeless sleep on the street?
When I think it's our tax dollars,
My how my blood does heat!
Is anyone smart enough today,
To order these fools to stop?
Let's stop this foolish partying,
For in two years their work will stop.
It's then they're on the campaign trails
To keep this cycle going around.
Let's paint their face and noses,
And send them to work as circus clowns.
