'Neath Golden Fields

If God should ask my soul to yield
Please lay me in a golden field
Where grasses dance 'pon gentle breeze
Like waves upon the restless seas
And I, content I lived my best
Can leave my body there to rest
If God should call, my soul required
Set free from earth where I am mired
Please lay me down in fertile soil
Where flowers neither spin nor toil
And I, content to no more roam
Can trust the Son to guide me home
'Neath golden field and sunny skies
'Twould be no chore to close my eyes
And leave this vessel saved by grace
To look upon my Savior's face
And I, content with sweet release
Can lay me down to rest in peace
