winter shades fall on a snow white canvas
as true to life as the painter's hand is
colors collide to create the vision
dull in mix, but sharp by decision
depicting people and places never seen
with insight so clear and ever so keen
worlds of laughter and worlds of sorrow
appear hereafter, today and tomorrow
sitting by a window on a rainy day
if they could speak, what would they say?
so accurate and lifelike, did that one just wink?
keep your eyes on them, don't even blink
say hello if you've never seen them before
wave goodbye as they turn and leave by the door...
