Blind Man's Vision

I see the world in flashes of white
The quickest flashes, purest light
I see the faces, many of men
They all follow me back to my den

I am blind, my world is dark,
But I still hear the song of the lark
What makes my different, to other good men
Is the way I make my mind scan

The world is a beauty, I am taught
But it has, many a fault
Men hunt men, with greed in their eye
Whilst many of the innocent are left to die

The delicate scream of a child, all but dead
The forgotten cries of a soldier, as his heart bled
The desperate pleading of a beggar, his pride torn
The silent tears of a mother, left to mourn

The pure greed of a leader, as he reaps more
The merciless anger of a lord, creates more gore
The wails of a merchant, at the loss of coins
The dark laughter of the evil, as it twists and joins

Yet the beggar smiles, a questioning expression
He is open to the world, with a warming reception
He sees more than the people above
He seeks the truth, and nurtures with love

The child stands, on frail legs
She has nothing but left over dregs
Yet she does little wail & whinge
When death doth come, she will not cringe

He fought for his country, never to be forgotten
Now his lying in the trench, dead and rotten
You fought for freedom, beyond reason
Now, family’s tears freeze, in the winter season

A child is born, heart barely beating
Before even the family has their first meeting
Child is dismissed, added to the pile
His name “remembered forever” on a tile

The world is wrong, twisted over time
The main industry these days is crime
We are all human, unique but the same
Yet we always seek to severely maim

Life is so short, made shorter with insecurity
Pain created through an act of immaturity
Who will remember you, when your bones are dust
Look deep in yourself, its where you must trust

Being true to yourself is the only way
Living the good life, day to day
Understanding yourself is your life’s quest
When satisfied, we all lay to rest

I am blind, yet this is what I see
The rich blunder, than look and flee
Together we are restricted by the next person’s best
But we are complete, in our own nest
