THE MARCH TO THE PEAK

Topic: Sad Poetry

Contributed By: marsh

The road to the top
can never be a smooth drop
for challenges are bound to arise
discouraging the unwise;

There will be distraction
at every turn demanding attention
there will be bruises and hurts
a stab through your heart;

Expect to suffer pain
every nerve and limb strain
brace for the worst and best
before you can get rest;

Sometimes you will be lonely
for you will all be alone
and occasionally you may stumble
for life is a gamble;

Just when you fear
the journey will never end
just beyond the bend
your destination will appear.
