Before I Close My Eyes

A tornado wrapped around my thoughts

As my head rests on my pillow

And I gaze up at the ceiling

I find this thought creeping upon me

Where are you out there

Are you thinking of me?

Or are you thinking about how your going to be holding her like you once held me

As one tear falls

I find the strength to catch it and wipe it away

But the tears begin to unwillingly fall anyway

As I taste the mixture of salt and heartbreak

What a disgusting taste it is

Leaving tear stains on my pillow

The feeling is even worse

You loving someone else that's not me

Slowly as I drift off to sleep

Before I close my eyes

The now nonexistent image of us resorts in the back of my mind.
