Through My Eyes

Not through my eyes
Can you see the world
Each passing moment is my creation
And sometimes with joy
Sometimes trepidation
Do I see my way

Sometimes I am sinkable
And sometimes I rise
To the surface where the view is wide
But where each passing tide
Sweeps me to unknown shores
And at the end of the ride
I learn to walk again

But sometimes I see you
Riding a wave of your own
And travel together
Instead of alone
Until one of us goes under
Like a sinking stone
Trying to find a home
On the quiet river beds

You wont rest there long
Life goes on
But I hope you can take
Some of the quietness with you
When the riverbeds are gone

Not through your eyes
Can I see the world
Each passing moment is your creation
And sometimes with joy
Sometimes trepidation
You will see your way
