What's a life worth?
That it cannot hold back the hand of rage
As it seeks to reek its vengeance.

What is a life worth?
That it cannot prise open the palm of the richest
Lands to share the crumbs.
What is a life worth?
That greed cannot wait in the wings until
Life has brought the curtain down.

What is life worth?
That ignorance and anger are left to parade
Our differences and not that which we share.
What is life worth?
That the face of fertility smiles on a selfish and
Barren land whilst showing its back to the life its created.

What is life worth?
That the barrel of a gun or the hounds of war are
Heard above the voice of reason.
What is life worth?
That the eye can only see through the veils of jealousy
Whilst taking from life that which it has no entitlement.to.

What is life worth?
That the gleam of a rock can outshine the pool of blood
That cries to the earth in payment.
What is life worth?
That you and I cannot see its brevity for wanting
To shorten the gifted days with disrespect.

What is life worth?
